What it checks (and what it does not)
We check what makes a CV fail in most systems: that the PDF has real text (not an image), that the text reads in a logical order (two-column templates get scrambled), that there are standard section headings, that the email and phone are written as text, that every role has dates and that there are achievements with numbers.
We do not match keywords against a specific job post (that depends on each role) and we do not «grade» your experience. The score is indicative: 100 means the system will read it without tripping, not that the content is good.
Frequently asked questions
What is an ATS and why does it reject CVs?
An Applicant Tracking System is the software companies and job boards use to receive and filter applications. It extracts the text from your PDF, splits it into fields and compares it with the job post. If it cannot read the file (image, crossed columns, unusual headings) or cannot find what it looks for, your CV never reaches a person.
Is this the same software companies use?
No: every company uses a different one (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Teamtailor, SAP…). We apply the checks that fail in almost all of them: text layer, reading order, recognisable sections, detectable contact details, dates and measurable achievements. If you pass these, you pass most systems.
Do you store my CV?
No. The PDF is processed in memory on the server, the signals are computed and the file is discarded. Neither the file, nor its text, nor your name is stored. Technical logs only keep the page count and the score.
Does it work with any CV or only those made with CVSinTrampas?
Any PDF: Word exports, Canva, Europass, InDesign, the LinkedIn PDF… If it is a PDF, we analyse it.
I got a low score. What now?
Read each warning: it tells you what to fix. The fastest fix is to rebuild it with the editor: upload your LinkedIn PDF or fill in the form, pick a template with the green shield and download. Check it again here if you like.
